In Novotema a few days ago we witnessed the spectacular delivery of a new 8,500 kg refrigeration system, which was "dropped" in its site, next to the production plant.
This gigantic new chiller is used to cool the thermoregulated heating plates of our presses in order to keep the molds’ temperature constant and it replaces the current evaporative towers.
There are multiple reasons behind this investment.
The chiller manages to cool down the water temperature and to keep it stable, no matter what the outside temperature is. This means that the temperature of the thermoregulated heating plates of our presses can be constantly controlled and can remain at an optimal level. This allows an improvement in our products’ quality.
Furthermore, thanks to this system, we do not run any risk of development of the legionella bacterium. Since the system works with a closed circuit, the water does not stagnate and no pathogenic agent potentially dangerous to health can develop. This ensures greater safety.
Unlike evaporative towers, the new system does not require a continuous top-up of water, therefore there is no waste of resources. Since there is no risk of the development of the legionella bacterium, we do not have to use chemical and biocidal additives and solutions. Finally, from the consumption point of view, this device is programmed in such a way as to regulate the cooling system, optimizing it on the basis od the external temperature and thus reducing energy consumption. All of this implies improvements in terms of environmental sustainability.
